I thought I'd give the new Primo Drive Side Guard a try, so I ordered one and took it out riding today. I've heard of people cutting FBM guards in order to ride it on the drive side, but now Primo does the work for you.
I rode for a few hours and did a lot of grinding. Apparently it saved my chain from a few good scratches. I break a lot of chains and hopefully this will prevent that. A while ago I tried the Coalition cog guard but bent it in after only a couple days. This Primo one seems like a much stronger design and hopefully it holds up.
Overall, I'd say this is a much cheaper alternative to buying a left side drivetrain.
