On Tuesday night, Ari and I both got on the fixed gear Steamrollers for a ride. Mine was currently in "commuter mode", so I put a rear brake on, took off the riser bars and installed the road bars again. I had no zip ties at home and so I strapped the rear cable to the top tube with some leather rope. I also took off the current saddle and installed the "test saddle". The black and gold happened to tie in nicely with the rest of the bike.

Riding fixed gear is always a lot of fun. It's nice to just ride without thinking about shifting and just let your legs keep spinning. We rode about 40mi and I felt good by the end.

Ari also brought a brand new AM/FM radio along so that we might lure in the werewolf with some classical tunes. I had no idea you could still buy those things even.

That was a great ride. It is a lot easier than one thinks with these machine that kind of propel themselves. Let's compare the ratios.
Stay Moving!
