Un-boxing Ross's Krampus

Our boy Ross made a good decision and ordered himself a Krampus frameset from Surly as soon as he could. He's been anxiously awaiting it's arrival, and apparently so has everyone else around here. Sometimes I felt bad seeing him bombarded with questions concerning it's existence, but then I remembered it will all pay off once the thing's built up and the kidnapping/pillaging may begin.

Many more photos below:

A couple of nice gussets ensure that this thing can both give and receive a beating.

Big headtube.

Awesome yoke custom designed specifically for the Krampus.

Nice details.

The paintjob on this thing is just badass. It's almost like a green Moonlander.

Nice dropouts with eyelets for a rack, or perhaps fenders.

The full frame, in all it's glory, and Tobie admiring it from a distance.

Surly also sent him a box full of the Krampus-specific wheel components: Rabbit Hole rims, Knard tires, rim strips and tubes.

I'll try to document the build process as best I can, because I'm pretty excited about this bike. It's going to be real killing machine and Ross has some cool things in store for it. If you live in the DeKalb area, please prepare to hide your children very soon. The Krampus is comin' to town!
