So, if any of y'all follow me on various forms of social media, or actually talk to me in person, you'll know that I recently moved out of the suburbs already and to Chicago. I am diggin' it real good so far. Within the first week of living here, my good pals in the band Seasonal Mens Wear played a show at The Fireside Bowl. I've knows these guys for a good while. In fact, Jake, the guy who sings, has been a buddy of mine since high school. They play a ton of shows around DeKalb, and I tried to make it out for most of them while I lived there. It was super cool to see them play a show somewhere other than DeKalb though. The Fireside Bowl is kind of a weird place. It's part bowling alley, part dive bar, and part music venue. It actually kind of reminded me of a place you might find back in DeKalb, so I guess things weren't all that far from typical about this show after all... Either way, they boys played an awesome set and I snapped some pics.
