ReOrganizing/ReCycling at the Bike Shop

The innertube department has always been a bit of a lost cause here at the shop. It will typically stay organized for a week at most, before reverting to something that resembles a schizophrenic's pantry (food often finds it's way into the many compartments). This time of year, things slow down just a bit, giving us time to tackle these types of issues.

Tobie had the idea of making use of all the Brooks boxes we've accumulated, and creating drawers for the tubes, which made for a neat and good-looking way to store the tubes and keep them organized. The image above shows the process of creating these, which I spent almost an entire day doing.

The finished product above. This actually ended up creating a ton of empty space on the shelf, which was soon filled with brakes/levers, cassettes, and other components that were previously without a good home.

I think this was well-worth the time I spent on it. It will make finding and restocking tubes a much faster and easier process. Another added bonus: All the materials were free and would have otherwise been thrown away.
