Cascara Quad
I was browsing the local store a few nights ago, searching for a tasty treat to sip on. This ale from New Belgium's "Lips of Faith" series caught my eye, partially due to the fact that the design on the bottle reminded me a bit of my favorite Golden Saddle Cyclery cap (pictured in the background). It's an ale brewed with dates and coffee cherries, which I thought sounded great. It poured it into my favorite Michelin glass with a strong aroma and a hazy deep red/brown color. It tasted of dark fruits and a bit of coffee with a hint of alcohol. I certainly wouldn't call myself a beer "expert", but I really enjoyed the Cascara Quad, and will find it difficult to part with the neat-looking empty bottle.
