I recently noticed that Volume Bikes (a BMX company that started making fixed gear stuff) is soon to release a sort of hybrid bike (they're calling it a cross between a BMX and a commuter) featuring an 8-speed Alfine hub, hydraulic disc brakes, and an eccentric BB. From what I've been seeing lately, it seems like 8-speed internal hubs are becoming The Next Big Thing!
